Tale of Genji Museum 11 minutes walk
Located on the banks of the Uji River, this museum features the best of “The Tale of Genji”. In addition to a scaled-down model of Rokujoin, the residence of Hikaru Genji, there are life-size reconstructions of vehicles and furnishings of the Heian aristocracy, such as oxcarts, folding screens, and light stands.
